about

In early 2019 I purchased a Deluge, which is a synthesizer, sampler and sequencer from a boutique electronics company named Synthstrom in New Zealand. The Deluge has rekindled my musical creativity and changed how I approach making music. Whereas previously I favoured painstakingly programming everything, all of the tracks on this album were put together very quickly and most of them were sequenced live during the recording of the track. The tracks were recorded direct to WAV file on the Deluge itself then afterwards I applied a little light mastering using REAPER.

I had a set of song titles noted down that were all related in some way to my childhood. The album starts with my brain being created (the process of synaptogenesis) and journeys chronologically through my childhood from there.
